It's moments like these...
...that brings back the reality of what has happened. An email bounced today. It was from a mass forward I sent yesterday to an email list. Some funny pictures that were doing the rounds in the email community. It was from my cousin's email account. He is no longer with us, passed away a few weeks ago in a tragic car accident. Immediately I felt a pang of sadness as I realised that I had been sending him stuff for the past few weeks without knowing it, as he was on one of my email distribution lists. I guess his hotmail account had finally reached it's quota without anyone checking it regularly. It is with much sadness that I now remove my cousin's email from the list.
This raises a new interesting thing that I've noticed. When a person passes away, he or she leaves behind many things. Loved ones, friends, physical belongings, bank accounts, unfulfilled promises, email accounts etc etc. It's just something you don't realise until it happens to someone who is close to you.
I am an aethiest and I also know everyone dies. So, where ever you are now buddy, I'm sure I'll be with you someday. Until then, farewell.
