Yes I am going to write about my Eunos Roadster again, amongst other things :D Have I mentioned how much I love driving it? Have I mentioned how it still makes me smile when I'm behind the wheel? :D
It's been scratched for the second time in a matter of months! Both times the damage was so minor I couldn't be bothered getting it fixed. Just goes to show that even other cars and drivers are magically drawn to it :D
I was filling up petrol 2 weeks ago and as I was walking to pay, a guy, also going in to pay, looks at my car, looks at me, smiles and mutters "Nice car buddy". I said thanks. :)
A few days ago, I was in the lift with another guy who was behind me when we drove into the car park. He starts asking me about the MX-5 and how it was to drive. We had a mini conversation about it. I told him it was awesome fun to throw around the bends and recommended he get one for himself :D
Oh and there's rumours that Mazda will be unveiling a hard-top convertible option for the MX-5 at the British Motor Show on July 20. How awesome is that?!!? I gotta get one of those!

My uncle had a heart attack last week. I got a call from my auntie as I was driving to work. He was in hospital at that stage. I took the day off and went straight to the hospital. They lost their only son just 2 years ago in a car accident, so you can imagine what his wife was thinking when he had the heart attack. Luckily he's recovering well now. They gave him medication to thin out his blood and thus cleared the blockage. I think it's his high cholesterol and the fact that he stopped taking his cholesterol medication a while ago. He's back on it now, along with a better diet and some exercise.

I've decided to try my hand at contracting. I've decided to venture outside the medical device industry as it's too small and opportunities are limited. Previously I've made an effort to remain in this industry because I liked the good things they do for the community. But now, it's at the expense of my happiness and professional development. I feel I've learnt as much as I could at my current place of employment. I'm getting bored and feel I'm starting to be de-skilled. I want some excitement for the next few years.
I'm going contracting for a few reasons. Better pay, more diverse experience, faster paced. There's the whole efficient use of time and flexibility thing as well. Meaning when I work, I'll work hard and I expect to be paid well. I hate how as a permanent employee, you fall into that trap of taking things easy and get complacent. At least with contracting, if you're taking it easy like the rest of them, you're getting paid heaps along the way. I want to be able to work hard for 9 months a year and still afford to go on a holiday for the other 3 months. Work hard and play hard is the motto.
I've already applied for a few positions. I'll see how I go. In becoming a contractor, I've identified self training as an integral part to my success. Apart from experience, qualifications is a big plus for contractors. Thus I've decided to attempt to get a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) certification.
Eventually I may settle for a permanent role with a company that I like but for now, I just want to make as money as I can, have as much fun working as I can and play as hard as I can :)
