Dump and Burn!

Christina was up at Brisbane for work, I flew up to join her over the weekend. The River Festival is on at the moment. Saturday night was the River Fire display. Apparently it's the biggest thing in Brisbane, bigger than NYE. Started off with the Roulettes doing a display over the city/Brisbane River/Southbank. Then a couple of RAAF F-111's flew over at 400 feet and did a "dump and burn". (It's where they dump their fuel and ignite it, creating a massive flaming tail, kinda like afterburners on roids) Followed by a 30 minute fireworks display in sync with music played over loudspeakers. And ended with another dump and burn by the F-111's. They were awesome! So forkin loud! Came so close you can see it, illuminated by the burning jet fuel.

Also checked out the city's CBD, Chinatown, Roma Street Parkland, Mt. Cootha and ate soooo much. I've gained a whole inch around my waist in the past few weeks. Now up to 31 inches I reckon. Christina and I also got a caricuture drawing at the Arts and Crafts markets on Southbank. hahaha so funny. Check it out:
